The Dell EqualLogic PS6000XVS is a virtualized iSCSI SAN that is designed to provide responsive, reliable support to end users while increasing efficiency and decreasing the cost of data management. The PS6000XVS supports the data availability of tired applications. The combination of low-latency SSD’s and high performance SAS drives within one array, gives the ability to deliver intuitive data responsiveness for tiered workloads.
The PS6000XVS offers optimized data response for applications through intelligent tiering of data, within the array, automatically placing it on the appropriate disk based on historical I/O and performance patterns. The PS6000XVS is designed to meet and exceed the rugged requirements of the data center. The PS6000XVS includes fault tolerance capabilities through fully redundant and hot-swappable components – dual-controllers, standard dual fan trays, dual power supplies and disk drives with hot spares. The PS6000XVS features dual 1GbE controllers with a total of 4GB battery-backed memory that provides up to 72 hours of data protection.
